Macau inspired menu


Alex comes with a rather amazing heritage ! Born in Mozambique, grew up next to a Chinese community, which clearly influenced his way of seeing a plate, then moved to Lisbon at 19 to attend culinary school, and then hoped to our dearest tropical island of London. 

Worked in some of my personal favourites restos (@bratrestaurant , @littleduckthepicklery , @manteca_london , @bao_london ) and then created his brand GWEI-LO. 

Macau, often called the original fusion food capital, is a major inspiration for Gwei-lo. Alex’s cooking is rooted in Chinese cuisine, primarily Cantonese, incorporating ingredients and culinary influences from Portugal, Goa, Mozambique, Malaysia, and around the world.
